I leave for Dahlonega, GA tomorrow around noon to start the trail itself on the following morning. I really can't wait. Anyway, I thought some people might like to see what I am taking with me so I thought I'd post a gear list and picture. Right now I'm on the "taking the kitchen sink" side of things and I fully intend to pare it back once I get out there and really figure out what I'm going to need. So here we go:

Wow! You look more organized than any young person I know......

Ashley and I will begin watching the weather and hoping that you'll be seeing the Trail at its most beautiful and most confortable. Remember that our Lake Lure home is close to the Asheville part of the trail, so call us we can bring you any gluten-free comfort food!

I was just recently diagnosed. I think it's great what you are doing. I am in the process of trying to figure out the gluten-free thing! Good luck with the hike!
